Lunch by iTypeFastr

We had a wonderful lunch sponsored by iTypeFastr today. iTypeFastr is a replacement for the default iPhone keyboard for jailbroken iPhones where the sizes of keys vary based upon common use frequency, all in order to make sure you type faster. Stefan from iTypeFastr is collecting names for their beta test, so if you didn’t put your name and email address down today at lunch, make sure you write it down tomorrow or leave it here on the blog.

We’re starting

If you’re not here yet, we hope to see you soon!

Counting Down to Mobile Dev Camp

There’s only a few days until Mobile Dev Camp! If you haven’t joined the 80 other people who already signed up, I hope the updated schedule will convince you. We’ve got a jam-packed schedule full of workshops and times for coding, so there’s no reason not to come!

Unfortunately the popularity of the Dev Camp means that I’m scrambling to sort out refreshments. Does a cost of maybe €15 or €20 for lunch each day and beers in the evenings sound reasonable? If I can get a few volunteers to help me get supplies, I think we can sort it all out. Can you help? As always, you can reach me at peter@mobiledevcamp.nl.

Quick Note about the Job Board

Hi all, I’m afraid we’ve had some issues with the job board recently, including difficulties posting and replying to jobs. I hope they’ve all been fixed, and you can now use some basic HTML in your postings (anchor and image tags, plus some text formatting). Please email me at peter@mobiledevcamp.nl if you are still having problems.

Interview with Tiburon TV

Here’s an interview Viktoria from Tiburon TV did with me about Mobile Dev Camp a few weeks ago at an Amazon Web Services event. Enjoy!

Android at Mobile Dev Camp

You may have noticed that the latest hot thing in the mobile space, Android, has been missing from our list of workshops. Thankfully, that is no longer true: Diego Torres Milano is coming all the way from Malta to tell us about Android application development. Not to be missed!

Workshops

Hi all, thank you for the enthusiastic response to the Dev Camp! We already have 30+ people signed up for the first day of workshops without even knowing what is in store. I can now shed some light on the program. Just to give you some quick examples, Joris Kluivers will walk through people through their first iPhone apps while Arjen Broeze will write a MobilePython live on his Nokia E90. Check out the Workshops page for more information. As you can see, we don’t have anyone scheduled to talk about Android yet, so if you can help fix that travesty, please email me at peter@mobiledevcamp.nl!
